Llew wagg has been playing drums since he was 7 years old. But didn't really start taking it seriously 'til he was in his teens.
A former drum teacher had told his mother he should give up drum lessons as he wasen't learning anything and said she was
wasting her money.
Llew loved music though and was drawn to the drums and began to learn songs from records rather than teachers.
Making his favorite artists the teachers:
John Bonham- Led Zeppelin - Nick Mason- Pink Floyd - Carl Palmer- ELP - Neil Peart- Rush - Phil Collins- Genesis - Bill Bruford And Alan White - Yes - Bill Ward - Black Sabbath - Gary MacCraken - Max Webster
the list could go on forever.
Llew's played in several different bands throughout his life playing Toronto and the surrounding area when
he was younger from Lee's Palace to the Opera House to the Cabana Room, the Marquee,
Nags Head North, Hot Rocks etc., mostly with Mike Vandenberg playing the bass guitar.
Acting On Impulse was started about two years ago with originally two guitarisits, bass and drums but
guitarist Doug MacMurchy left the band due to a busy schedule.
Unsure where the future lay the three still played on and one day while Llew was having friends over for a
BBQ his dog was barking at the neighbour who lived behind him. His friend, Kelley, was trying to calm the nutty dog
with no luck, so Llew walked over, quieted the dog and the person the dog was barking at was Peter Probst.
They introduced themselves and Peter came over that night and played gutar around the fire.
A short while later they jammed with acoutic guitars again around the fire in Llew's back yard and Peter
brought over his keyboards for a full rehearsal later that week. Ever since then they've been learning and
working on songs, the show, website ,t-shirts, advertising and anything else that needs to be done to make a
rock band work.
